Season 4
Musicquest Songwriting Competition Season 4 is all about celebrating musical diversity, and this time, we’re inviting you to showcase your creativity through ballads. A ballad is a narrative song that tells a story, often emotional and heartfelt, blending powerful lyrics with captivating melodies.
This season’s theme revolves around sad love songs. We encourage you to draw from your own experiences to craft compelling lyrics and melodies that capture the essence of heartbreak and longing. The competition aims to highlight the deeply personal yet universally relatable aspects of sad love, inspiring you to create songs that resonate with audiences everywhere.
As a participant, your work will be evaluated by a panel of seasoned judges from different sectors of the music industry. They will assess each entry based on creativity, originality, musicality, and emotional impact. Beyond recognition and exposure, winners will receive exciting rewards, including studio time, mentorship opportunities, and the chance to perform at a major music event.
MECHANICS
Please read carefully before submitting entry
1. The contest is open to all youth aged 15 and above, residing in any region of the Philippines.
2. The length of the audio must be at least 3 minutes and shall not exceed 4 minutes. The AUDIO must be submitted in MP3 FORMAT.
2.1. Please provide an unedited, live performance video in landscape format of your entry, recorded within a studio environment. (see sample video: https://bit.ly/4i6qZpC)
3. Competition Theme is “SAD LOVE SONG” strictly in Ballad, genre like (Pop, Rock and R&B “alternative”). (The song should not depict any form of religious worship.)
4. Each participant is allowed to submit two (2) entrees only (so pick your best). Entries must not have been used and/or entered in any other competition or published in any media, social media (Facebook, Youtube, Tiktok, etc.) and posted online for whatever purpose, prior to the start and during the competition.
5. The Song/s must be in English/Tagalog only.
6. Entrants are prohibited from utilizing copyrighted material in their audio submissions, including music backgrounds.
7. Submit Song Lyrics in Word or PDF format.
- Submit a Cover photo of yourself or Group in PNG Format, size (1400×1400 px)
8. All entries must be ORIGINAL and made by the person entering competition. Strictly NO A.I. Generated Lyrics, if proven, the entry will be disqualified.

11. Accomplished Registration Form (See Form Below). Attach File of your Audio and Lyrics in PDF format.
12. All winning entries and videos that will be posted to our social media page and channel will become a property of Musicquest Philippines. (see Terms and Condition)
13. All entries must be submitted on or before October 15, 2025
