Terms and Conditions: MusicQuest Songwriting Competition Season 4 (2026)

By checking the “I agree” box and submitting your entry, you (the “Participant”) hereby enter into a binding agreement with MusicQuest Philippines and its representatives (Tatiana Batalla, Carlo Batalla, and Friends). Please read these terms carefully, as they outline your rights and obligations.

1. General Overview

MusicQuest Season 4 is a songwriting competition focused on the Ballad genre, specifically themed around “Heartbroken Love Songs.” Participants are tasked with creating original narrative songs that explore themes of heartbreak, longing, and emotional storytelling.

2. Eligibility & Participation

  • Age/Residency: Open to youth aged 15 and above residing in any region of the Philippines.

  • Originality: All entries must be 100% original works. The use of A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) to generate lyrics or melodies is strictly prohibited. Discovery of A.I. usage will result in immediate disqualification.

  • Exclusivity: Entries must not have been previously published, performed, or entered into any other competition, including social media platforms (Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, etc.), prior to or during this competition.

  • Social Media Requirements: Participants must subscribe to the MusicQuest by Tatiana and Friends YouTube channel and follow the specified Facebook pages (MusicQuest by Tatiana Batalla and Friends and Carlo Batalla).

3. Submission Technicalities

  • Audio: Must be in MP3 format, between 3 to 4 minutes in length.

  • Video: An unedited, live performance video in landscape format, recorded in a studio environment, must be provided via a public Google Drive link.

  • Copyrighted Material: Use of any third-party copyrighted material (including samples or backing tracks) is strictly forbidden.

  • Language: Songs must be written and performed in English or Tagalog only. Religious worship themes are not permitted.

4. Ownership and Intellectual Property Rights

By submitting an entry to MusicQuest Season 4, the Participant agrees to the following regarding rights and ownership:

  • Assignment of Rights: All winning entries (Top 10) shall become the exclusive property of MusicQuest Philippines.

  • Social Media Content: Any videos or audio submitted and subsequently posted on MusicQuest Philippines’ social media channels and pages (Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, etc.) will become the property of MusicQuest Philippines.

  • Usage Rights: MusicQuest Philippines reserves the right to use, reproduce, distribute, and monetize the winning songs and submitted videos for promotional, commercial, and broadcast purposes without further compensation beyond the initial prize money.

  • Publicity: Participants grant MusicQuest Philippines the right to use their name, likeness (via the submitted 1400×1400 px photo), and biographical information for competition-related marketing.

5. Judging and Prizes

  • Evaluation: Entries will be judged on creativity, originality, musicality, and emotional impact by a professional panel.

  • Prizes:

    • Champion: ₱300,000

    • 1st Runner Up: ₱150,000

    • 2nd Runner Up: ₱75,000

    • … (as per the tiers listed in the official announcement).

  • Consolation: 10th to 19th Runners Up will receive ₱5,000.

  • Additional Rewards: Winners may receive studio time, mentorship, and performance opportunities at a major music event.

6. Timeline

  • Deadline for Entries: August 31, 2026.

  • Final Competition: December 2026.

  • MusicQuest Philippines reserves the right to extend deadlines or modify the schedule as deemed necessary for the competition’s success.

7. Indemnification

The Participant warrants that their submission does not infringe on any third-party intellectual property rights. The Participant agrees to indemnify MusicQuest Philippines against any legal claims arising from a breach of this warranty.
